Mixed Show and Gwenda Morgan
Spring & Summer 2015
We will be showing a selection of works by Frances Hatch, Jonathan Newdick and Teresa Whitfield in the gallery, until the opening of our next exhibition.
Frances likes to work directly with the landscape; preferring to work outdoors, she will often incorporate materials from the ground around her, such as clay, chalk and minerals, into her final work.
For many of the works in this show, Frances took inspiration from a recent trip to Scotland. 'Mist, Frost, Moon', for example, was created in East Scotland, near the home of the author Robert Macfarlane.
Jonthan Newdick similarly prefers to draw outdoors, and often in stormy conditions. Based locally, many of his works take inspiration from the Sussex landscape.
Teresa Whitfield has led the fine art course at Northbrook College, Sussex, for many years, but is a new exhibitor here at Kevis House.
Her highly detailed ink drawings are characterised by a close resemblance to real fabric, with lace being her main source of inspiration. Teresa has drawn lace from many museums across the UK, including the V & A, Worthing Museum and the Museum of Fashion in Bath.
Prices range from £380 - £2,400.
