'Constable at Petworth'
The two exhibitions at Kevis House Gallery, 'Connecting with Constable' and 'Continuing from Constable', were timed to coincide with the National Trust's major exhibition 'Constable at Petworth' at Petworth House, Sussex.
Following the sell-out 'Turner's Sussex' exhibition in 2012, 'Constable at Petworth', 11 January -14 March 2014 was a showcase of 40 stunning watercolours and drawings made around Petworth by the great British landscape artist, John Constable. Many were made during his two visits to Petworth House in 1834, when he famously described it as a ‘house of art’.
